Your body is really smart.  It can learn to ride a bike, and with  practice you get better and life gets easier.  With more practice you can perform more and more skills while balanced on two wheels.  Walking, chewing, talking, dancing like Michael Jackson... all the same process.  And you don't even have to think about it.

We do the same thing with tension, trauma and stress: the body balances itself and these energies to allow us to continue on with our daily activities.  That is, until you reach your nervous system's capacity for balancing--there's always the point where adding just one more ball will collapse the whole juggling system.  We fall down.

With collapse comes symptoms:  Neck, back, ribs, TMJ, headache, shoulders, knees, stress, anxiety, fear, anger... Where is your ball being dropped?  Where is your system springing a leak?

So on to feeling better!  Your nervous system can learn to refine its ability to efficiently handle greater challenges.  When energies are "stuck" somewhere (head, neck, hips, back, etc.)--we call this stress, pain, anxiety.  When unstuck we call it tickle, giggle, ease, and grace.  The difference between stuck and unstuck isn't a mysterious "block" or "problem," just a skill level your body hasn't yet achieved.

The implication here can be profound--and quite beyond pain relief. Improved nervous system strategies increase your tendency to creatively move through situations that previously caused you to react-- triggering symptoms in your body.  Think about that for a second...
